Presidents Day - Solid Waste Holiday Schedule

Presidents Day is Monday, February 15, 2010. Trash from the Burlington Monday route will be collected on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Recyclables will be collected on Monday as usual.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2010 for Presidents Day. Due to the holiday, the Burlington City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. The Citizen Input Session will be at 6:30 p.m. with the regular City Council Meeting following at 7 p.m. in the Thomas J. Smith Council Chambers.

Homeowners whose property is near a fire hydrant are encouraged to remove snow in order to clear access to that hydrant. Your cooperation will help the Fire Department better find the hydrants in the event of an emergency.
Snow Windrows

The procedure of opening travel lanes in emergency, secondary & residential routes will be followed during predicted winter weather. There will be windrows of snow left away from curbs in front of driveways & walks. When the weather subsides, the City will return to curb the snow. If you need to scoop part of the windrow to get your car out, please do the minimum necessary.
Parking Prohibition

When there is an accumulation of 2" or more of snow, the automatic parking prohibition takes effect. Parking is prohibited & vehicles will be ticketed & towed on designated posted snow routes. This does not include the Central Business District. Questions? Call: 753-8119

2010 DOG/CAT LICENSES

License your dog or cat at City Hall for 2010!

You must provide WRITTEN PROOF of rabies vaccination from your veterinarian.
$5.00 per animal. License is on a calendar year basis.

Dog Park Tags

Dog Park tags are available at Burlington City Hall, Summer Street Animal Clinic, Allgood Animal Hospital and Horse & Hound Country Store.

$10.00 per dog. License is on a calendar year basis.

Must have proof of rabies vaccination (in writing from vet).

If you are a Burlington resident, your pet also must be registered with the City of Burlington.
